The goal of the Lancaster Urban Farming Initiative is to produce 10-20 acres of fresh vegetables atop Prince Street Garage. Idealized as a vertical greenhouse in the heart of Lancaster, the expansive glass and steel structure will demonstrate new initiatives in urban farming in an underutilized public space.

Project Highlights:

Improve community infrastructure, utilize underperforming street space, and demonstrate the county’s commitment to world-class farming.

Establish large-scale urban farming in Lancaster County.

Produce year-round harvests of produce, herbs, and plants for local food distributors and institutions including LGH/Penn Medicine.
