Growth Area Recalibration
In this round of meetings, we discussed different ways to improve the development pattern in growth areas. If we want existing boundaries to last until 2040 and beyond, we need to be efficient about using buildable land and encouraging redevelopment.
More specifically, we looked at nodes and corridors with the potential to support more compact development and diverse housing types, especially in locations that are walkable to transit. We also considered areas that might be appropriate for industrial use.
Our discussions focused on how we can make these locations into better places to live, work, play, and visit. We drilled down on a few of them to discuss potential zoning changes, transportation connections, and infrastructure investments.
