Data Dashboard
Lancaster County Planning (LCP) developed the Data Dashboard to serve as a centralized data resource for local governments, planning partners, and the broader community. It features data about how Lancaster County has changed since the 2018 adoption of places2040, the Lancaster County Comprehensive Plan.
The dashboard contains the most current data on commonly asked questions ranging across five topics:
1) Regional Planning,
2) Demographics,
3) Housing,
4) Transportation, and
5) Economy.
Explore our Data Dashboard here:

Please reference the Data Dashboard User Guide (PDF) to learn how to use the dashboard and to find additional dataset details.
With the LCP Data Dashboard, users can:
- Compare how municipalities are performing across the various included topics to help identify potential multi-municipal collaboration opportunities;
- Identify policy and potential infrastructural gaps and devise strategies to bridge them;
- Examine how various land use features intersect with available data;
- Save money on costly GIS software;
- Save time on preliminary data and geospatial research;
- Utilize the dashboard to supplement the plan review process;
- Research and develop data-driven storytelling based on recent planning and land use trends; and
- Follow how Lancaster County Planning is progressing towards its strategic goals.
Data sources include federal and state sources, public transportation providers that serve Lancaster County, and Lancaster County’s Planning and GIS Departments. The data will be updated regularly to maintain relevance, based on new releases from our federal, state and local sources.
