The Lancaster County Planning Commission celebrated the 2023 places2040 Planning Leadership Award Winners at an event held in May 2023 at the Manheim Township Public Library. The awards are a way to recognize organizations, projects, and individuals in the county that are meeting the goals of places2040, the Lancaster County Comprehensive Plan. There were 10 award winners – 6 planning projects, 2 student projects, and 2 individuals.

 Planning Project Awards

These awards recognize planning projects which demonstrate leadership and effectiveness in implementing places2040, the Lancaster County Comprehensive Plan, during the last three years (2020-2022).

Student Awards

These awards recognize student planning projects which Increase the understanding and support for good planning, the planning process, and places2040. These awards recognize students who complete an individual or class or club project which enhances their school, community, or neighborhood.
